Why This Guide Exists
West Virginia provides several public access points, but they answer different questions. Tucker County adults are generally held through the state-operated regional-jail structure rather than a county-run long-term jail. WVDCR offers separate jail and prison searches. The Tucker court file can explain a bond, dismissal, sentence, or commitment, while VINE can report a named person's custody status or send a custody-change notice. Post-release supervision may involve the West Virginia Parole Board, WVDCR community corrections, or circuit probation. Federal prison records use the Bureau of Prisons locator, and immigration custody uses a separate ICE system when a documented handoff makes that search relevant.
This site brings those routes together and explains what each result can and cannot prove. A current roster is useful for present custody. A release or movement entry is stronger for the time and manner in which one custody episode ended. Court and correctional records may need to be read together.
